Soccer Game Preview: Roxana vs. East Alton-Wood River

The Roxana Shells will take on the East Alton-Wood River Oilers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Roxana and six for East Alton-Wood River.

Roxana fell victim to Freeburg and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Midgets.

Meanwhile, East Alton-Wood River also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Greenville on Monday, falling 3-0.

Roxana's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for East Alton-Wood River, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12-1.

Roxana took their win against East Alton-Wood River when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 5-1 score. Will the Shells repeat their success, or do the Oilers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
