Basketball Recap: North Tampa Christian Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

North Tampa Christian Academy extended their home winning streak to nine games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Zoe Bone. The North Tampa Christian Academy Titans breezed by the Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans to the tune of 78-24 on Monday thanks in part to Bone, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Bone is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Another player making a difference was Madalyn Newmyer, who went 5 of 7 en route to 11 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in boards (two).

North Tampa Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Tampa Christian Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Seven Rivers Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they will challenge Booker at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Booker knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Winthrop College Prep Academy likes a good challenge.
