Soccer Game Preview: Marist vs. Pace Academy + How To Watch

The Marist War Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Pace Academy Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Marist had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the 11-goal drubbing they dealt Southwest DeKalb on Wednesday. The War Eagles' defense stepped up to hand the Panthers an 11-0 shutout. Given Marist's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Southwest DeKalb are ranked 390th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pace Academy won against Drew last Friday with ten goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Monday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over M.L. King. It was an even better day for Sophia Halsey as she scored three goals for her team.

Pace Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 42 goals over those six matches. As for Marist, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0.

Marist got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 against Pace Academy by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the War Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
