Softball Recap: Gill St. Bernard's Extends Winning Streak to Three

Gill St. Bernard had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They skirted past the Bound Brook Crusaders 13-11. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Brynn McCarthy was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Reagan Scalfani also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.

Gill St. Bernard's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Bound Brook, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Gill St. Bernard's will take on Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bound Brook, they will square off against Bayonne at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
