Basketball Recap: Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy Comes Up Short

Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Jets, falling 70-44. The Phoenix were not able to make up for their defeat to the Jets from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Academy of Aerospace and Engineering was led to victory by Kimar Malone and Julian Surdyka. Malone went 13 of 26 en route to 31 points along with five assists and four steals, while Surdyka went 9 for 20 on his way to 20 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards. The game was Surdyka's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Hasani Henry also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first board of the season.

Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Academy of Aerospace and Engineering, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
