Baseball Recap: Springfield Cougars vs. Garnet Valley Jaguars

Springfield extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-11 in the process. They fell 6-1 to the Garnet Valley Jaguars. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Jaguars from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Springfield got a good showing from Denny Monastra, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Monastra has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Springfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shane McCaffery, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was McCaffery's first of the season.
