Softball Recap: Taconic Comes Up Short

Taconic dropped their record down to 11-9 on Sunday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Hampshire Regional Raiders, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Thunder have suffered since April 29th.

As for Hampshire Regional, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-1. Considering they have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Sunday's blowout was nothing new.

For Hampshire Regional's part, Ryanne Dubay1 was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. Dubay1 has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Hampshire Regional let Caelyn Thayor and Teagan Charles run wild. Thayor went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Charles went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalin Dubay4, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

As of now, neither Taconic nor Hampshire Regional have any future games scheduled.
