Lyndhurst is 8-2 against New Milford since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Golden Bears will challenge the Knights at 4:00 p.m. Lyndhurst's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so New Milford's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Lyndhurst is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Mahwah on Saturday. They fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 1-0. The Golden Bears' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, New Milford hadn't done well against River Dell recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Sunday. The Knights came out on top against the Golden Hawks by a score of 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Matthew Mulligan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks. New Milford is undefeated when Mulligan allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Peter Psarianos was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Block, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

New Milford's record now sits at 9-7. As for Lyndhurst, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Lyndhurst took their win against New Milford in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
