Baseball Game Preview: Franklin County Wildcats vs. Shelbyville Golden Bears

The Franklin County Wildcats will head out to challenge the Shelbyville Golden Bears at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Franklin County's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matches, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Franklin County lost 14-1 to South Dearborn on Thursday.

Franklin County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Kruthaupt, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Kaden Welch also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Shelbyville waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.

The result came thanks to Dalton Jones's shutout, as he gave up just three hits.

Shelbyville's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Franklin County, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Franklin County came up short against Shelbyville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 10-6. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
