Volleyball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield lost against Carmi-White County back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mules fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1.

The 2-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Fairfield lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 21-25, 25-23.

Jensyn Robbins paced Fairfield's offense, picking up 19 kills. Robbins got some help from Dalanie Ellis and her ten assists. Robbins was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Carmi-White County, they pushed their record up to 31-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Fairfield has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Robinson on the 20th. As for Carmi-White County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Harrisburg on the 20th.
