Volleyball Recap: Reading Memorial Takes a Loss

If Reading Memorial was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Lexington on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockets lost 3-0 to the Winchester Red & Black on Wednesday. The Rockets have struggled against the Red & Black recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Reading Memorial had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18, 25-18.

Charlie Ballestas paced Reading Memorial's offense, picking up eight kills. Ballestas got some help from Gianna Miceli and her 11 assists.

Reading Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Winchester, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-1.

Reading Memorial has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Woburn Memorial on the 24th. As for Winchester, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Belmont on the 23rd.
