Basketball Recap: Demari Robinson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jefferson over Bishop Heelan Catholic

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 78-56 to the Bishop Heelan Catholic Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-16 back in January.

Jefferson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Demari Robinson, who posted 14 points and five assists. Jaden Hill was another key player, going 5 of 8 to rack up 10 points and five boards.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Bishop Heelan Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will challenge Le Mars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Heelan Catholic, they will take on Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Lincoln will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Bishop Heelan Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
