Pinewood won the last time they faced KIPP San Jose Collegiate and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Wolfpack with a sharp 16-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Zaiden Saberi and Bill Cui made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Saberi struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Cui pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Saberi scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3, while Cui scored two runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, Cui is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, Xavier Schlough was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 1-for-3. Those runs were his first of the season. Allan Skelley was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-6. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Pinewood will welcome Summit Shasta at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Black Bears have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, they will head out to take on Summit Tahoma at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
