On Saturday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the court. The Sidwell Friends Quakers took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Hawks. The Quakers' loss signaled the end of their 20-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Sidwell Friends' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Acaden Lewis, who posted 12 points and seven steals, and Ian Condon, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lewis a new career-high in steals.

Sidwell Friends' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Highland, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Sidwell Friends didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-43 win against Paul VI on the 8th. As for Highland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-50 defeat against DeMatha on the 8th.
