Basketball Recap: Chaparral Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Chaparral had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Chaminade Eagles, falling 82-60. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Leading Chaminade to victory were Braylon Sherwood and Troy Arthon. Sherwood shot 82% from the field en route to 25 points and five boards, while Arthon went 8-for-14 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. Cole Morgan was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

The win (which was Chaminade's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Chaparral will head out to square off against Riverside Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chaminade, they will be taking part in a tournament against Valencia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
