Basketball Game Preview: Ironwood Eagles vs. Arizona College Prep Knights

The Ironwood Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Arizona College Prep Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Thursday, Ironwood humbled Kellis with a 95-52 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Ironwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Brownstein out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine assists. The dominant performance gave Brownstein a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was I'Yar Shadowvine, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven assists and six steals.

Brownstein wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Ironwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Arizona College Prep scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to Chaparral 85-80. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in December of 2024 (77), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Ironwood's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Arizona College Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
