Baseball Recap: Highlands Ranch Falcons vs. Columbine Rebels

Highlands Ranch took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Columbine Rebels 5-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Jackson Tuttle looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Ayden Wells was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Josh Dave, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Highlands Ranch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Columbine only posted a batting average of .250.

Coincidentally, Highlands Ranch and Columbine will both be playing Eaglecrest the next time they take the field. Columbine will host Eaglecrest at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Highlands Ranch will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
