Softball Recap: Lawrence Academy Triumphs

Lawrence Academy took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Pamlico County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors skirted past the Hurricanes 5-3. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 13-3 win the Hurricanes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Clair Ferebee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Lawrence Academy's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caroline Halstead, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Lawrence Academy's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Pamlico County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-8.

Lawrence Academy and Pamlico County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 68th) will meet Faith Christian (ranked 222nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pamlico County will face off against Jones at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th with a big rank advantage (119 vs. 346).
