Basketball Recap: Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles vs. Cresset Christian Academy Eagles

The Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Cresset Christian Academy on the road to the tune of 79-37. Cape Fear Christian Academy pushed the score to 73-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Zeke Brock was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 assists. He has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last seven times he's played. Kayden Dunkins was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Cresset Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Branson Green, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Mario Jarett, who scored 13 points.

Cape Fear Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Cresset Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

As for Cresset Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. New Garden Friends presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in North Carolina (the Bears are ranked 209th, while the Eagles are ranked 621st).
