Basketball Recap: Bryana Pantallion and Bella Elliott Secure Win for Liberty

Liberty won the last time they faced Cleveland and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Liberty Panthers walked away with a 46-33 victory over the Cleveland Indians. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 635th, while the Indians are ranked 1389th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Liberty to victory were Bella Elliott and Bryana Pantallion. Elliott dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards, while Pantallion posted 19 points along with eight boards and four steals. Pantallion has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

The win made it two in a row for Liberty and bumps their season record up to 13-9. As for Cleveland, they dropped their record down to 0-22 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will square off against Shepherd at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty is facing Shepherd at the right time seeing as Shepherd is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Cleveland, they will take on College Park at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. College Park will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Cleveland surely won't give up without a fight.
