Basketball Game Preview: Buckeye Bucks vs. Coventry Comets

The Buckeye Bucks will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Coventry Comets at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Saturday, Buckeye came up short against North Olmsted and fell 55-47.

Ruby Hudak put forth a good effort for the losing side as she went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points and five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlie Gunkelman, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Coventry also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Springfield by a score of 39-32. The defeat continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost eight in a row.

Coventry's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Buckeye, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
