Baseball Recap: Shadow Ridge Wins Going Away Against Tolleson

Shadow Ridge made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Tolleson, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Shadow Ridge was the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over Tolleson on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Stallions considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Nathan Paxman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. Shadow Ridge is 2-1 when Paxman allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 6-7-2 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on DJ Lafitte, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 12 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Pearson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Shadow Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Shadow Ridge's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8-2. As for Tolleson, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-7-1 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shadow Ridge will venture away from home to challenge West Point at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tolleson, they will head out to take on Verrado at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
