Softball Game Recap: Dayton Bulldogs vs. Colton Wildcats

Dayton lost against Colton on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bulldogs might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 21-11 to the Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 4-0 in the first period.

Cindi Howard was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. Brooklyn Laughery also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Dayton and nudges their season record down to 8-4. As for Colton, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dayton will venture away from home to take on McLoughlin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Colton, they will challenge Genesee at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
