DME Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Hamilton Heights Christian Academy. Everything went the DME Academy -'s way against the Hamilton Heights Christian Academy Hawks as the DME Academy - made off with a 67-43 win. The - have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

DME Academy was led to victory by Chikae Desdunes and Micaela Cavalcanti. Desdunes went 7 for 13 on her way to 21 points, while Cavalcanti went 5 of 6 on her way to 14 points and seven assists. Those 21 points gave Desdunes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of GiGi Battle, who posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

The victory made it two in a row for DME Academy and bumps their season record up to 16-3. As for Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

DME Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-58 win against Grind Prep on the 3rd. As for Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Soddy Daisy at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th.
