Basketball Recap: Jefferson Davis County Takes a Loss

Jefferson Davis County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 66-55 to the Lawrence County Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Cougars are ranked 86th).

Jefferson Davis County's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Lawrence County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

When Jefferson Davis County and Lawrence County next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Jefferson Davis County will try to stop Columbia's three-game winning streak when the meet at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lawrence County will face off against St. Joseph Catholic and their six-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
