Baseball Game Preview: Rivers Red Wings vs. Lawrence Academy Spartans

Rivers is 0-6 against Lawrence Academy since May of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Red Wings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Rivers fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Noble & Greenough on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-5.

Meanwhile, Lawrence Academy faced Winchendon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Spartans lost 15-0 to the Wapiti. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

Rivers' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lawrence Academy, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
