Volleyball Recap: Pierce Beats Ponca for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Pierce entered their tilt with Ponca on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Indians. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bluejays also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Pierce easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17.

Nora Herian paced Pierce's offense, picking up 12 kills. Herian got some help from Adrienne Riggert and her 28 assists. Riggert was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Pierce's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Ponca, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Pierce and Ponca will both be playing Dakota Valley the next time they take the court. The Bluejays will host the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Indians will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
