Softball Recap: Tualatin Continues Home Dominance on Friday

While Tualatin didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Sprague Olympians 13-6 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Timberwolves, who have now won five matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Reese Strode was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Strode was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.

Tualatin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive games.

Tualatin pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Sprague, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Tualatin and Sprague will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Timberwolves will take on rival Lakeridge at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Sprague is set to face off against their familiar foe McNary at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
