Football Recap: Flathead Braves/Bravettes vs. Butte Bulldogs
Flathead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Butte Bulldogs 41-10. The Braves/Bravettes were down 41-3 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Brett Pesola threw for 162 yards and a touchdown.
Kaleb Sims was his top target, picking up 71 receiving yards.
Colton Shea went supernova for Butte, throwing for 331 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Shea a new career-high in rushing yards. Karson Pumnea helped Shea out on the ground, rushing for 56 yards and a touchdown, while also catching a touchdown.
Flathead's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Butte, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Flathead will face off against Helena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Butte, they will head out to challenge Sentinel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Butte is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
