On Thursday, North Fort Myers faced Mariner in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The North Fort Myers Red Knights were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Mariner Tritons. Considering the Red Knights have won 11 matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Mariner with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lexi Neumann, Hannah Busenbark, Kenlee Dominguez, and Bailey Root.

The win (which was North Fort Myers' ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those nine games. As for Mariner, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 15-2 record.

North Fort Myers will take on Riverdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mariner, they will face off against Barron Collier at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
