Softball Recap: Bethel Park Takes a Loss

Bethel Park extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 6-4 in the process. They came up short against the Baldwin Highlanders, falling 12-1. The contest marked the Black Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Baldwin, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.

For Baldwin's part, Camryn Temme and Melina Defelice were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Temme tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Defelice didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Temme has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Temme went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Defelice went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Gabriella Jaquay was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Reese Temme was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Bethel Park wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-3 defeat against Trinity on the 28th. As for Baldwin, they have also already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Albert Gallatin on the 28th.
