Baseball Recap: Kansas City Christian School Comes Up Short

Kansas City Christian School extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-5 in the process. They came up short against the Christ Prep Academy Patriots, falling 15-5. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in April of 2021.

As for Christ Prep Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7. Considering they have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Christ Prep Academy's part, Noah Wagner looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Wagner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cade Elder was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Titus Blackford also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kansas City Christian School will host Maranatha Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Christ Prep Academy, they will welcome Faith Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
