Preview: McGill-Toolen vs. Murphy
Murphy had trouble last Friday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. On Friday, they take on McGill-Toolen at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Murphy, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Murphy had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They lost to Baldwin County by a decisive 7-23 margin.
Last week, McGill-Toolen faced Spanish Fort in a battle between two of the state's top teams. McGill-Toolen were fully in charge, breezing past Spanish Fort 48-13. McGill-Toolen was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the rankings had forecast.
McGill-Toolen's win lifted them to 1-0 while Murphy's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if McGill-Toolen can add another positive mark to their record or if Murphy can shake off the loss and take the spring out of McGill-Toolen's step.
