Soccer Game Preview: Vance Charter vs. Granville Central

The Vance Charter Knights are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Granville Central Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vance Charter knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Granville Central likes a good challenge.

Vance Charter barely beat Oxford Prep the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Vance Charter was the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over Oxford Prep on Wednesday. Anna Lloyd was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Granville Central was not able to secure the win in their season-opener two weeks ago. They and Oxford Prep finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.

Vance Charter's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those four contests. Granville Central's draw gives them a new season record of 0-0-1.
