Baseball Recap: Elida Tigers vs. Capitan Tigers
Elida took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past Capitan 12-0. This was payback for Elida, who suffered a 17-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Radlee Ferguson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, James Dobbins was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Capitan dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elida will venture away from home to square off against Floyd at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be Elida's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Capitan, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Capitan Tigers take on Santa Rosa Lions at 6:00 p.m. on April 3.
