Football Game Preview: Tustin Tillers vs. Rancho Cucamonga Cougars + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Elijah Robinson and James Strong III are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Tustin Tillers will face off against the Rancho Cucamonga Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tustin is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

On Thursday, Tustin strolled past Capistrano Valley with points to spare, taking the game 35-20. The Tillers pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Rancho Cucamonga earned a 31-24 victory over Chino Hills on Thursday.

Rancho Cucamonga's win came from a few key players Tustin will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tyree Wilson, who rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, and also picked up 62 receiving yards and one TD. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Jacob Chambers was another key player, throwing for 247 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes.

Rancho Cucamonga didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Nate Mensah led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He is on a roll when it comes to interceptions, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Tustin's record now sits at 8-2. As for Rancho Cucamonga, their record is now 6-4.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Tustin has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 177.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Rancho Cucamonga struggles in that department as they've been averaging 148.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
