Soccer Game Preview: Staunton vs. Fort Defiance

The Staunton Storm will square off against the Fort Defiance Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Staunton's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Buffalo Gap with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Staunton.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fort Defiance, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They won by a goal and slipped past Strasburg 4-3. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Fort Defiance's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Fort Defiance's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Staunton, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Staunton skirted past Fort Defiance 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
