Football Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eastside can now relate to. They lost 53-32 to the Adams Central Flying Jets on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Blazers in their meetings with the Flying Jets: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the defeat, Eastside saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah Dove rushed for 137 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 63 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Those 137 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Dove. Another player making a difference was Job Richman, who threw for 152 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Adams Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Eastside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Adams Central, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Eastbrook at 7:00 p.m. The Flying Jets will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
