Charlotte Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Carmel Christian Cougars on Friday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Grant Nicholson tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hudson Simmons, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Cohen Bettencourt also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Charlotte Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Carmel Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12-2.
