Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Perry's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Perry won the last time they faced Harvey and things went their way on Friday too. The Perry Pirates secured a 64-59 W over the Harvey Red Raiders. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 641st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Red Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Deontae Ware, who went 7 of 13 en route to 16 points. What's more, Ware also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Dom Snyder, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points.

Perry is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Harvey, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perry has already played their next game (against South), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Harvey will square off against Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harvey is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season.
