Softball Recap: Loara Saxons vs. La Quinta Aztecs
Thursday just wasn't the day for Loara's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the La Quinta Aztecs on Thursday. Loara was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as La Quinta apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Wednesday.
For La Quinta's part, Nevaeh Gomez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Gomez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive pitching appearances. Gomez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Ella Magga was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Loara's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for La Quinta, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-11.
Loara does not have any more games scheduled as of now. La Quinta also has no future games currently scheduled.
