Volleyball Game Preview: Nixon-Smiley Mustangs vs. Luling Eagles

The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs will take on the Luling Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nixon-Smiley will be strutting in after a victory while Luling will be coming in after a loss.

Nixon-Smiley took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They skirted past Karnes City 3-2. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Badgers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Nixon-Smiley was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (103-101), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 14-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Luling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Stockdale.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-5, 25-6.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 12-17. As for Luling, their loss dropped their record down to 2-21.

Nixon-Smiley skirted past Luling 3-2 in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
