Baseball Recap: Prairie Central Takes a Loss

Prairie Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 11-5 to the Eureka Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 9-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Will Skala and Lane Whitfil did some serious damage despite the final result: Skala got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, while Whitfil went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That home run marked the first that Skala has launched this season.

Prairie Central's record is now 5-19. As for Eureka, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-2 record this season.

Prairie Central will host Olympia at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eureka, they will challenge Fieldcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
