Basketball Preview: Dexter Demons vs. Cobre Indians
Dexter and Cobre are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Dexter Demons will jump right back in to play the Cobre Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Dexter kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 74-38 loss at the hands of Silver. The Demons' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it seven in a row dating back to last season.
Despite the loss, Dexter saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cj Granados scored 11 points. Noamiah Aragon was another key player, posting seven points.
Meanwhile, Cobre didn't have quite enough to beat Fort Sumner/House on Thursday and fell 62-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (56), the Indians still had to take the loss.
Dexter came up short against Cobre in their previous matchup back in January, falling 53-49. Can Dexter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
