Dracut won the last time they faced Academy of Notre Dame and things went their way on Friday too. The Middies blew past the Lancers 3-0.

Dracut never let Academy of Notre Dame on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-10, 25-15.

Leila Amiepouopouo paced Dracut's offense, picking up five kills. Amiepouopouo got some help from Kelsey Hudon and her 15 assists. Alexis Hudon and Cassidy Saindon kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with five aces apiece.

Dracut's victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9. As for Academy of Notre Dame, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Dracut and Academy of Notre Dame could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Middies will face off against Andover at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (148 vs. 14). Meanwhile, Academy of Notre Dame (ranked 247th) will meet Lynn Vo-Tech (ranked 93rd) at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
