Volleyball Recap: Marquette Catholic Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Marquette Catholic entered their tilt with Jersey on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 2-0. This was a revenge game for the Explorers: when they faced off against the Panthers back in August, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Marquette Catholic never let Jersey on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-16.

Marquette Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ari Davenport led the charge by getting six digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Davenport a new career-high.

Davenport wasn't the only good servers: Marquette Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Marquette Catholic's record is now 18-14. As for Jersey, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.

Marquette Catholic has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Father McGivney Catholic on the 20th. As for Jersey, they will challenge Triad at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
