Softball Recap: South St. Paul Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tartan on Monday, South St. Paul came back down to earth. The Packers fell 8-4 to the North Polars on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Packers of the 7-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Sophie Bebeau and Lily Pachl did some serious damage despite the final result: Bebeau went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Pachl went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

South St. Paul's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for North, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

North will square off against Two Rivers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Polars surely won't give up without a fight. South St. Paul will be paying especially close attention to North's match: after North faces off against Two Rivers, they'll take on South St. Paul again at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
