Baseball Recap: Cary Imps vs. Apex Friendship Patriots

Cary extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-13 in the process. They came up short against the Apex Friendship Patriots, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on Tuesday.

As for Apex Friendship, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games.

For Apex Friendship's part, they let Ajay Rychcik and Hayden Fones run wild. Rychcik went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Fones went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was Fones' first of the season. Connor Sousa was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
