Greenville has gone a perfect 6-0 against Woodmont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Red Raiders will take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Greenville has three straight wins, Woodmont has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Greenville had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt T.L. Hanna on Tuesday. The Red Raiders put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 4-0 victory. Give Greenville's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

They hit T.L. Hanna with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Emme Cook (2), Sarah Meade, and Emerson Hamilton.

Meanwhile, Woodmont fell victim to Hillcrest and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to the Rams. While losing is never fun, Woodmont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Hillcrest are ranked 25th).

Greenville pushed their record up to 7-2-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six contests. As for Woodmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Greenville took their win against Woodmont in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a conclusive 4-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
