Basketball Game Preview: Stephens County Indians vs. Pendleton Bulldogs

The Stephens County Indians just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Pendleton Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Stephens County is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Stephens County came up short against West-Oak and fell 49-40. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 472nd in Georgia, while the Warriors are ranked 229th in South Carolina).

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Monday. Pendleton managed a 59-55 win over Berea.

Pendleton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Stephens County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Stephens County suffered a grim 60-36 defeat to Pendleton in their previous meeting last Tuesday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Bulldogs' Samuel Ross, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 17 points and five boards.
